OUTSIDE SERVICES ATTENDANT - PART TIME
Part time up to 30 hours a week. Rate of pay is $13.00 an hour plus tips. Schedule includes weekday/weekend mornings and afternoons. Must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver's license.
Job duties include friendly customer service, assisting golfers with bags upon arrival and departure, cleaning and restocking golf carts and picking up range balls from the driving range.
GRILL/BEVERAGE CART ATTENDANT - PART TIME: BALLANTRAE GOLF CLUB
The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the part-time position of Grill/Beverage Cart Attendant at Ballantrae Golf Club.
The position is part time up to 30 hours a week. Rate of pay is $13.00 per hour plus tips. Schedule includes weekday/weekend mornings and afternoons. Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver's license.
Duties include, but not limited to the following: friendly customer service, cooking breakfast and lunch items, operating a point of sale system, grill cleanliness, driving a beverage cart on the golf course and the sale of beverages and food to the golfers.

GOLF COURSE LABORER/EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for a part-time position of Golf Course Laborer/Equipment Operator at Ballantrae Golf Course.
Summary: Maintains the grounds of golf course and prepared for play, performs routine manual labor involved in maintaining golf course, operates and maintains small power tools, and uses large equipment such as tractors, loaders, and mowers to perform duties.
Duties may include, but not limited to the following: operate hand mowers , string trimmers and edger’s in the care and maintenance of miscellaneous areas; rake and maintain sand bunkers; set tee markers and cups on tees and greens; maintain ball washers, tee towels and flags where needed; remove debris, sand and seed divots; repair ball marks; prune, clean and mulch landscape beds; operate riding mowers, utility vehicles, tractors and other light duty equipment in the care and maintenance of primary areas; water turf areas as directed; help in project work including but not limited to use of hand tools; proper care of assigned tools and equipment; any other duties as directed by supervisor.
Candidates should possess working knowledge in the following areas but not required:

DEPUTY DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER
The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Deputy Director/City Engineer. This position reports to the Director of Development Services and Public Works. The Deputy Director/City Engineer is second in command of the Development Services and Public Works Department and has responsibility over the City's Engineering Division, while also serving as the City Engineer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Assists the director with process and operations improvements, oversees daily operations, planning, quality control, and develops and monitors the use of resources
- Assists the director with administrative functions, communications for the organization and developing and monitoring progress toward departmental goals
- Provides effective direction, control, and management over key engineering functions
including infrastructure and utilities engineering, transportation engineering,
construction management, and development review. - Manages, supervises, and assists subordinate staff in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of street, sidewalks, water and sewage systems, drainage structures, transportation facilities and other public works.
- Prepares and oversees the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of capital improvement projects. Signs plans for public works improvements. Stamp plans for work designed in-house.
- Meets and confers with developers, contractors, engineers and the public relative to the city policies, regulations, and procedures; resolves discrepancies and problem situations with outside parties.
- Ensures the effective coordination of work and project development between engineering/design components and the operations/maintenance components. Also ensures effective coordination with the other City Departments
- Determines priorities and work sequences necessary to achieve objectives and assigns personnel in accordance with priority and need.
- Attends meetings as required; responds to questions and requests for information/assistance by telephone or in person from the public, employees, officials or other persons; meets with citizens and investigates complaints about public infrastructure.
- Performs research functions; compiles/analyzes data; gathers, collates, and maintains information, maps, and statistics for use in planning departmental projects and activities; prepares/distributes related reports.
- Reviews engineering plans for commercial development and subdivisions; reviews/interprets maps, plats, site plans, blueprints, architectural drawings, and construction plans.
- Assembles and prepares analysis of basic data and field information regarding all public infrastructure.
- Consults with supervisors, regulatory agency personnel, the mayor, city council, engineers, contractors, utility companies, developers, and other agency officials to review departmental operations, discusses problems, coordinates activities, develops long-term plans, provides technical expertise, and receives advice/direction.

MANAGER OF WATER & SEWER
The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Manager Water and Sewer. This position reports to the Director of Development Services and Public Works.
Summary: This is a management level position that plans, organizes, manages, and reviews the work of employees engaged in the installation, repair, maintenance and operation of water and wastewater facilities including the wastewater treatment plant. All sanitary sewer mains, fire hydrants, meters, pumps, tanks and wells within the Water and Sewer Departments are included. Other duties may be assigned. This position oversees supervisory staff in the division and reports directly to the Director of Development Services and Public Works. It is distinguished from the supervisor class by its managerial responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, directs, and reviews operations and activities of the water and sewer divisions of the city; develops and implements goals, objectives and prioritizes work activities. Recommends policies.
- Responsible for preparation and administration of the division’s budgets.
- Responsible for a variety of personnel duties including interviewing, conducting performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions. Recommends the hiring and suspension of personnel.
- Analyzes division activities, makes recommendations, and implements improvements in processes to increase efficiencies and overall work quality.
- Analyzes trends, such as population and industrial growth of areas being served to determine the adequacy of current facilities and to project community demand for future facilities.
- Develops plans to meet and serve expanding community needs such as increasing capacity of water storage and distribution facilities or arranging new sources of water supply.
- Directs activities of subordinate personnel who oversee installation, maintenance and repair of the water distribution and sewage facilities.
- Confers with Director and technical personnel and outside utilities to coordinate department activities.
- Evaluates new developments in materials, tools, and equipment to recommend or deny purchase.
- Responsible for the effective management of consultants and service providers.
- Provides input into the capital plan based on analysis and research of best practices.
- Directs work according to the strategic and capital plans.
- Working in correlation with Director and Safety Manager, investigates and provides memos and reports of claims against the city related to division activities.
- Provides for training and development of division employees.
- Prepares billings and estimates for repair and construction work performed by city forces.
- Ensures an adequate inventory of materials, supplies, parts, and equipment for the Division’s total work program.
- Prepares formal work schedule programs for Division and utilizes project management and electronic workflow tools to effectively manage efficient work projects.
- Inspects work in progress of contractors and staff crews for conformance with plans and specifications.
- Handles citizen complaints related to the division and makes decisions regarding the escalation of issues to the Director.

STREET MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I
The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the part-time and full time positions of Street Maintenance Technician I. This position reports to the crew supervisor. This job involves manual labor of some semi-skilled and unskilled nature including both heavy and light physical labor in a wide variety of city activities as it relates to routine maintenance of the City’s infrastructure, such as, but not limited to:
- Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from Crew Supervisor.
- Cuts and trims trees, grass and weeds on right-of-ways.
- Removes litter from City streets and medians.
- Operates backhoe to dig trenches, repairs yards damaged by water line breaks; repairs storm drain pipes, inlets and junction boxes.
- Repairs streets and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete.
- Removes and replaces damaged traffic signs.
- Operates lawn equipment.
- Responds to animal control calls and is responsible for catching pets and wildlife.

Director, Parks & Recreation
The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Director, Parks & Recreation. This position reports to the City Manager. The Parks and Recreation Director is responsible for the administrative duties and supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Parks and Recreation Department and the Senior Center. Plans, organizes, and directs comprehensive public and voluntary community wellness programs at several facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Studies and analyzes community wellness programs, recreational needs and resources.
Conducts market research and develops short- and long-range goals and objectives.
Interprets wellness programs and their philosophy to individuals and groups through personal participation and staff assignments.

Communicates regularly with citizens to answer questions; enforces policies and procedures.
Purchases equipment and services from outside vendors.

MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATE - BUS DRIVER - PART TIME
The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the part time position of Municipal Associate – Bus Driver with the Pelham Senior Center.
Summary: Responsible for driving buses for the safe transportation of people to locations and back original point of origin.
