Ready to take the first step toward becoming a Birmingham Bull? Little Toro’s Learn to Skate, presented by the Birmingham Bulls and Pelham Hockey, introduces young players to the ice through a fun, supportive environment designed just for beginners.

This program focuses on developing essential skating skills — such as balance, two-foot glides, forward and backward swizzles — that form the foundation for future hockey success. Little Toro’s is the first step in the Future Bulls Program, preparing players to advance into Learn to Play and, eventually, Pelham Youth Hockey League (PYHL) competition.

The eight-week program meets Thursdays from 6:45–7:45 p.m. and includes eight classes, skate rentals, and limited supplies of helmets, gloves, and sticks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment if available. The cost is $165 per session, with an optional personal gear package for $310.

Little Toro’s is open to ages 4–17 and is divided into three progressive levels — Basic 1, Basic 2, and Basic 3 — that build confidence and skill before advancing to Learn to Play. All skaters must hold current USA Hockey memberships and register at pelhamhockey.net.

Whether your child is stepping on the ice for the first time or dreaming of future league play, Little Toro’s offers the perfect introduction to skating, teamwork, and the excitement of hockey.
